The service starts
with a cursory review and assessment of your system with a
consultant to tailor the service package to your specific needs.
After this meeting, a HITS professional will provide you with an
estimate of
your
ongoing support needs based the size and
complexity of your network and the input we receive from you. As
part of the offering, we create a checklist and at regular
interval monitor and review your servers, hubs, routers, wiring,
backup devices, and any critical computer hardware. In addition,
we download software patches, drivers, and new updates to software
as they become available. The Proactive Network Support not only
provides for ongoing review and monitoring of your system at
regular intervals but over time produces documentation about your
system. This will become valuable input for future upgrades and
modifications to your system. As part of this service, our
Consultants can also review any routine processes or activities
performed by your staff, such as backup procedures, to suggest
improvements. In the case of system backups this can involve the
proper blend of incremental and full backups, review of your
backup scripts, storage of tapes, and other non-traditional
storage alternatives. Although the basic Proactive Network Support
package does not encompass a full security review, it addresses
certain security concerns as an ancillary part of the offering.
